Also known as poly methyl methacrylate, acrylic or perspex is a transparent thermoplastic often used a substitute for lightweight and shatter-resistant glass parts. PMMA is considered more cost efficient than PC when transparency and UV tolerance are more important than impact strenght. Typical applications include lenses & sensors, medical implants, smartphone screens and car windows.
