Nylon is an engineering thermoplastic material that is characterized by high impact strenght, excellent abrasion resistance and overall good mechanical properties. It also is very chemical resistant, but is susceptible to moisture absorption. Overall it is stronger and can withstand higher temperature environments compared to PTFE and PEEK. Typical applications include bushings, bearings, gears, insulators but also aerospace and medical parts.
