Aluminum alloy 6082-T6 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. It has the highest strength of the 6000 series alloys. The T6 series is hardened and thus has a higher strength, but a lower ductility. Typically used for high stress applications such as machine components and structural members. It has a tensile strength that ranges from 140 – 330MPa. It is heavily employed in offshore construction and containers.
